Privacy Policy for Customer Personal Information
Kyoritsu Test System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) considers the appropriate handling of personal information to be a social responsibility in the course of our business activities. We protect our customers’ personal information in accordance with the following policy.
1. Definition of Personal Information
“Personal information” refers to “personal information” as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific person through descriptions such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other information contained therein, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, or voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual on its own, such as a health insurance policyholder number (personal identification information).

The collection of personal information shall be conducted within the scope of legitimate business activities, with clearly defined purposes of use, and only to the extent necessary to achieve those purposes.
The use and provision of personal information shall be conducted within the scope of the purposes of use for which consent has been obtained from the individuals who provided the information.
Personal information shall not be handled beyond the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use.
If personal information is to be handled beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use, prior consent of the individual concerned shall be obtained.
3. Purposes of Use of Personal Information
Customers’ personal information will be used for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate our services
- To respond to inquiries and consultations from customers
- To provide the latest information on our services, exhibitions, and other events
- To send necessary communications such as maintenance notices and important announcements
- To bill customers for paid services
- To conduct research and analysis for the development of new services and improvement of service quality
- To conduct research and analysis for proposals and marketing to customers
- To provide recruitment information, contact applicants, and conduct selection processes in recruitment activities
4. Changes to Purposes of Use
When the Company changes the purposes of use stated in the preceding section, the Company will notify or announce the changed purposes of use to customers by publishing them on the Company’s website or by other methods deemed appropriate by the Company.
5. Joint Use
To achieve the purposes of use set forth in Section 3, the Company jointly uses personal data of individuals within the following scope:
1) Categories of personal data jointly used
- Personal data relating to the individual, such as name, address, telephone number, and email address
- All personal data relating to customers and their family members obtained at the time of contract conclusion or service provision
2) Scope of joint users
Kyoritsu Test System Co., Ltd. and its group companies and affiliated companies
3) Purposes of use by joint users
Same as Section 3.

6. Disclosure and Provision to Third Parties
The Company properly manages personal information obtained from customers and will not provide it to third parties without prior consent of the customer, except in the following cases:
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the individual
- When particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the individual
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency or a party entrusted thereby in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining consent from the individual would interfere with the performance of such duties
- When outsourcing the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use
- When business succession occurs due to merger, corporate split, business transfer, or other reasons
7. Handling of Anonymized and Pseudonymized Information
When the Company creates anonymized or pseudonymized information, it shall do so appropriately in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws and regulations.
8. Outsourcing to Third Parties
The Company may outsource all or part of the personal information handling operations to third parties within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use set forth in Section 3. In such cases, the Company shall provide necessary and appropriate supervision over the outsourced party in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
9. Procedures for Requesting Disclosure
When a customer requests disclosure of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Company will confirm that the request is from the customer themselves and promptly disclose the information. (If the personal information does not exist, the Company will notify the customer accordingly.)
However, this does not apply in cases where the Company is not obligated to disclose the information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
10. Collection, Use, and Provision of Information Linked to Cookies
Cookies are a function that stores information about website visits in the internet browser (web browser) used by the customer. The stored information does not include personally identifiable information such as the customer’s name, address, or telephone number.
The Company’s website may use cookies or similar technologies (hereinafter referred to as “Cookies, etc.”) to collect and use browsing information for the following purposes:
- To improve the convenience and maintain and enhance the quality of the Company’s website
- To use advertising distribution services provided by third parties
